Prasar Bharati to increase free dish slots next year, says CEO Gaurav Dwivedi

Prasar Bharati ne apne free direct-to-home (DTH) platform, Free Dish ki pahunch ko badhane aur free-to-air channels ki badhti maang ko poora karne ke liye 2024 mein slots ki sankhya ko badhane ka irada kiya hai.

“Hum aur transponders prapt karne ki prakriya mein hain, taaki range ko aur badhaya ja sake aur bandwidth adhik uplabdh ho aur ummeed hai ki agle saal se hum adhikatar channel ki shreni dekhne ke liye uplabdh honge,” Gaurav Dwivedi, Prasar Bharati ke CEO, ne Storyboard18 se kaha.

Earlier this year, Prasar Bharati ne BIND Scheme ke antargat Public Broadcasting Service ki visthapna yojna ke hisse ke roop mein Doordarshan Free Dish ki capacity ko 166 TV channels se lagbhag 250 TV channels tak badhane ki yojna ka bhi ghoshana ki thi.

Prasar Bharati ke nedhe se nedha hokar hue MPEG-2 auctions ki taraf badh rahi popularita ke prateek hain. Pichle saal 12 pratishat giravat ke baad, Prasar Bharati ne MPEG-2 slots se aayi 66 pratishat badhotri se Rs. 1071 crore tak aayi thi.

Badhte audience universe Free Dish ki prasiddhi ke mukhya karanon mein se ek hai aur sankhyayen badhti ja rahi hain. Haal hi mein FICCI-EY ki report ke mutabik DD Free Dish ke base 2025 tak 50 million gharon se adhik ho jayega.

DD Free Dish sirf vistarit pahunch ke saath nahin hai, balki yah shehar aur gaon dono kshetron mein ek mishrit audeince profile laata hai. Swabhavik roop se, media buyers broadcasters ko DD Free Dish ke liye ek anivarya platform maante hain jiska nishkarsh hai ki vah desh bhar ke bade advertisers aur vishal target audience ke liye layak hai.

Isliye jab MPEG-2 auctions mein sabhi channels apni purse strings ko kholkar DD Free Dish mein pravesh karne ke liye maharat dikha rahe the, tab khabar channels bhi apne sthanon ko surakshit karne ke liye boli lagate rahe.
